Interactive Bulletin Board Decimal Numbers Introductory Activity

This resource is excellent to introduce the topic of decimal numbers. And you may use it during the whole unit to keep the students motivated and engaged during the unit.

The
objective of this activity is that each student shares with the rest of
the classroom the previous knowledge they have about decimal numbers,
what they want to learn and what they will be learning during the unit.

For
this, the students will build a tree pasting different figures in an
specific place of the classroom designated by the teacher. In the trunk,
the students will paste the activities related to previous knowledge:

– In which daily life situations do you think we could use decimal numbers?

-What do you want to learn about decimal numbers?

In the leaves, the work that will be done during the unit.

-In which daily life situation do we use decimal numbers?

-Have you found the answer to any of the questions posed at the beginning of the unit?

If the teacher prefers not to build the tree, the activity can be done just pasting the figures in a wall.

The
teacher must designate a space or a wall of the classroom that will be
the visible learning wall. This will be use to paste all the activities.

You will also find workshops to evaluate the work done by the students.
